On your arrival at the Phu Bai Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and driver who will bring you to Hue City. Hue served as an imperial capital to the Nguyen Lords, a feudal dynasty which reigned from the 17th to the 19th century. With splendid emperors’ tombs, ancient pagodas and the remains of the Citadel, the city retains its royal charm. Start from your hotel with a 10 minute cyclo ride from your hotel to the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO listed site. Enter through the towering main gate and you will appreciate the magnificent architecture and gardens while your guide explains about the events and the intrigue of the former royal court. Despite being bombed heavily, there are some incredibly well preserved sections still intact and others which are being lovingly restored. After the Citadel, we go to the Truong Tien Bridge and traditional Dong Ba Market which is rarely seen anywhere in the world. The Dong Ba Market is a typical market of centuries ago where vendors sprawl their goods out for you where you can walk and select the items you want.

Start early morning with a ride around Hue visiting the An Hien garden house, situated 30 minutes out of town and originally the residence of Emperor Tu Duc’s 18th daughter. The house is an excellent example of traditional Vietnamese architecture. Massive pillars support a large tiled roof, with the family altar in the middle. A large rectangular lily-pond separates a screen, designed to keep out evil spirits, and the house. And then visit Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s best-preserved religious monument. Standing on the riverbank with its seven-storey tower, the pagoda is a sight to behold.
In the afternoon, you will be picked up by vehicle at 02:30 pm and take a 20 minute drive to Thuan An Beach, where you will board a wooden boat with max capacity of 30 people for a relaxing float on the Tam Giang Lagoon. 30 minutes into the cruise, you will switch to a sampan boat where you learn about and experience what life is like for the fishermen of this area.
