Luang Prabang

Once the royal seat of the Lan Xang Kingdom, Luang Prabang snuggles between the Mekong and the Khan Rivers in a spectacular valley. Walking around the town, you can enjoy the atmospheric and charming personality of this small yet intriguing town.  After visiting the Buddhist Temples that are dotted around the town and the Museum, you can sit by one of the rivers and enjoy some of the many culinary delights that are on offer. And when you want a change of focus and pace, the market is available with craft products produced by local people or maybe you prefer to take a trip outside of town to the Pak Ou caves, the Kuangsi waterfall or one of the many cotton-silk weaving villages.

Getting there: Direct international flights from many of the Asian capitals arrive at Luang Prabang as well as an internal flights and overnight buses connecting to Vientienne.
