Far from the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh in south of Vietnam is a peaceful world of water and lush vegetation, a world where people have a more relaxed way of life.  After a 3 hour drive, you will arrive in the town of Cai Be, a typical small town on the Mekong Delta. From Cai Be, you will take a 30 minute boat trip to the Mekong Lodge. The Lodge provides a charming nature getaway on Tan Phong Island surrounded by the Tien River. It is very verdant and offers perfect opportunities for walking and cycling in a beautiful environment. There are ample opportunities for relaxation at the Lodge during your stay. 

Once at the Lodge, you will enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out to explore the local candy factory, craft centers. You can also enjoy a cooking class that focuses on using local produce to produce local foods. On your second day, you will visit the Floating Market, where you will see how locals living on and by the Delta trade their produce. You will also be involved in purchasing some produce for another cooking class that is available later in the day.

After your shopping trip, you can explore the island on foot or cycle. The gardens on the island are lush and exotic sporting many tropical fruits such as mango, longan, rambutan and durian trees. The morning of day three is for you to spend as you choose. You can continue with your exploration of the island or simply chill out in a environement of the Lodge that supports a time for relaxation.   

The Mekong Lodge includes 30 private pretty Bungalows and a River View Restaurant over an area of more than 12.000 m2.  All rooms and bungalows have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning as well as balconies with garden views. Any trip to Sth Vietnam will be incomplete without a trip to the Mekong Delta and no destination will provide more of what you want than the Mekong Lodge

Itinerary Highlights
DAY 01: Cai Be / Mekong Lodge

We leave Ho Chi Minh City in the morning arriving in Cai Be around noon. At Cai Be wharf, it is a 30-minute boat trip to the Mekong Lodge. After checking in, you can enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, you will get to go for a walk and visit some of the home candy factories as well handicraft at a nearby village. Late in the afternoon, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in a cooking class then enjoy the dinner that you cooked. If you are not quite ready to call it a night, you can visit the Riverside Bar which is open until midnight!

Day 02: Mekong Lodge

Indulge in the breakfast buffet before venturing out on a boat trip to the bustling floating market, where you will get to go shopping for the ingredients that you will use in your cooking class. After shopping, you can go for a full day of walking or cycling to tour around the island as. You will also explore Tan Phong Island before going to the orchard to pick fruits, such as mango, rambutan and longan.

The cooking class is in the afternoon followed by a delicious dinner.  And of course, if you are still feeling lively, there is the Riverside Bar for your rest of night.

Day 03: Mekong Lodge – Cai Be – Depart

You will have the full morning to relax in Mekong Lodge before your boat transfer to Cai Be wharf and road transport back to Ho Chi Minh City.
